Biography

Richard (Ricky) is the co-founder of Iron Lion Performance.  Born and raised in Astoria, NY, he is responsible for the community within Iron Lion, specifically the Members Experience and their fitness journey.

Having grown up playing youth sports in the Astoria community and eventually playing JV and Varsity Baseball in high school, Ricky is comfortable in the athletic and physical fitness setting.  Ricky graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and continued playing inter-mural sports.

Throughout his life, he consistently focused on fitness, especially as it relates to weight room training.  After having 2 beautiful children, Ricky took on a new chapter in his life and started coaching Little League Baseball teams of which his children are a part.  This led Ricky to being on the Board of Directors for a Long Island baseball organization before relocating to upstate New York.

With over 20 years of Customer Service experience, Ricky quickly learned that leaders not only possess a high degree of creativity, but need to gain their customer’s trust.  In his business career, Ricky started at a front-line level working at a financial institution.  This eventually led him to a position as the Marketing Director of Operations for a Global Outsourcing company where he managed over 50 client locations and over 450 employees.  Continuing to push himself further,Ricky took a national company into international territory and won the Annual Excellence Award.  For his contribution to the organization, Ricky was the first Operations employee to be invited and subsequently receive the company’s President’s ClubWinner Award.

Using his previous athletic and business experiences, Ricky’s mantra not only for himself but for others is to be,“1% better every day, with small changes overtime leading to big results”.  Ricky is ready to champion your fitness needs both physically and emotionally to support your journey at Iron Lion Performance.
